Dear Learners,

Monday was World Health Day, a worldwide celebration to raise awareness about the importance of health and wellbeing for everyone, everywhere. For 2025, the World Health Organization launched their year-long Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures campaign, focusing on maternal and newborn health.

The campaign will push governments and the global health community to increase their efforts to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths, as well as prioritise women’s long-term health and wellbeing.

Your health and wellbeing is the foundation for success in all your pursuits. It improves the focus, energy, and motivation you need to get the most out of your learning journey.

When balancing assessment, work, and life commitments, it can be hard to make time for wellbeing. World Health Day reminds us to rest, reflect, and think about what we can do for our health.

Here are a few simple ways you can take care of yourself:

  • Stay active and make sure you get enough exercise. Even going for a short walk or stretching every day can boost your energy and focus
  • Eat well and drink plenty of water, as nutrition and hydration are crucial for staying healthy
Get enough sleep, as a good night’s rest will help with your mood and memory. Adults generally need about eight hours of sleep each night
  • Check in with your friends and family. If you’re feeling stressed or overwhelmed, a quick chat can go a long way

Take this World Health Day to prioritise your health and wellbeing. If you ever need support, don’t hesitate to reach out to your trainer.

Happy Friday! Stay healthy, learners.
